Christoph Bull, organ

Christoph Bull was born in Mannheim, Germany. He improvised his first melodies on the piano at the age of five and gave his first organ recitals and rock concerts with a band at the age of thirteen.

He has concertized and recorded around the world in venues including The National Concert Hall in Taipei, Shanghai Conservatory, the Shumei Temple in Misono in Japan, Salzburg Cathedral, Basilica Cathedral of Saint-Denis, Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, Teatro de las Ruinas in El Salvador, Segerstrom Concert Hall in Orange County and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. He has performed in Moscow, Russia, and in Moscow, Idaho, as well as at the Viper Room, The Roxy and The Whisky in Los Angeles. Christoph Bull has worked on movies and TV shows including Minority Report, Ghostbusters, Transformers, The Crazy Ones and How to build... everything.

His albums include First & Grand (the first full-length organ solo album recorded on the 2004 Rosales, Glatter-Götz organ at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles) and The Mass (written by Patrick Cassidy). His song Peace; was included on the compilation album 2 Unite All which also includes tracks by Peter Gabriel, Stewart Copeland, Ricky Kej, Lili Haydn and others. His music has been broadcast on radio stations such as KCRW, KUSC and the Minnesota Public Radio program Pipedreams. Christoph Bull regularly publishes new singles and albums on Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube and other download and streaming services.

His organ teachers were Cherry Rhodes, Hermann Schäffer, Ludwig Dörr, Samuel Swartz, Christoph Schöner and Paul Jordan. He also participated in master courses with Marie-Claire Alain, Guy Bovet, Craig Cramer and Rudi Lutz. Christoph Bull is university organist and organ professor at UCLA as well as organist-in-residence at First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, regularly playing one of the largest pipe organs in the world.
