Ethan Chow, Organ
A native of Yorba Linda, California, Ethan Chow is a second-year
undergraduate at The Juilliard School in New York City, studying organ
performance with Grammy-Award winning organist Paul Jacobs. Ethan’s musical passion developed through generous teachers and church involvement since the age of 5 with the piano. His organ journey started as a Christ Cathedral Organ Scholar and studied with Juilliard alum David Ball. He sang in the Cathedral and Diocesan Choirs, and was a member of the Cathedral Schola. He played regularly for the Cathedral's liturgies and events.
Ethan recently completed a one-year Organ Scholar position at Grace Church in Newark, NJ. He completed the Certificate of Merit Program with State Honors from Yamaha Music Academy in 2020 and was placed second in the 2021 AGO RCYO Salt Lake City Chapter Competition. Ethan is honored to be the recipient of the American Guild of Organists' Pogorzelski-Yankee Memorial Scholarship. He has been featured in many performances including, David Ball and Friends (2019), the 2019 Regional AGO Convention, Hartford POE student recital (2022), Spreckels Organ Pavilion (2023), Cathedral Organ Scholar Concert (2023), and ongoing Juilliard Organ Department recitals and masterclasses. Beyond the organ, Ethan studies improvisation, organ literature, and conducting. His favorite hobbies are traveling, gaming, cooking, jazz, and pop music.
