On Tuesday evening, March 25th, 2025, gather at Christ Cathedral for a Choral Adoration in celebration of the Feast of the Annunciation. This prayerful evening service sung by our Diocesan and Cathedral Choirs will include Marian Choral classics, Congregational Marian Hymns, and a newly-commissioned arrangement of Marian Hymn Come, let us worship (ISTE CONFESSOR) by Benjamin LaPrairie, Associate Director of Music at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. Originally commissioned by the National Shrine in D. C. for the 150th Anniversary Celebration of the Proclamation of the Doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, Come, let us worship includes a poetic Marian text by Anthony Corvaia set to one of the oldest Catholic hymntunes ISTE CONFESSOR. Ben’s new setting of this hymn will use the full resources of the Hazel Wright Organ and the Diocesan Choir to musically color and enhance this already beautiful hymn. Other music by living composers will also be featured in this service including Anna K. Jacobs’s Ave Maria for double choir, and Robert Lehman’s Annunciation Carol.
